High Definition Liposuction
Indicated for both men and women, high-definition liposuction permanently eliminates excess fat and reshapes muscle contours. It corrects key areas such as the thighs, buttocks, legs, chest, abdomen and arms.
A reshaped figure
The quantity and location of our adipocytes (fat cells) depend on our genetics. They develop progressively according to the quantity of lipids absorbed. Stored fat is difficult to eliminate simply by dieting or intensive sport. After the age of 30/35, for both men and women, it can become difficult to maintain an attractive figure.
High-definition liposuction targets areas with excess fat (hips, thighs, stomach, etc.), as well as areas where muscle contours can be better defined (pectoral muscles, abdominal muscles, deltoids, biceps and triceps, calf muscles, buttocks, etc.). It removes excess fat while reshaping and sculpting the figure’s key muscles. This step has been made possible by technical and technological developments.
Colombian plastic surgeon Alfredo Hoyos was the first to develop this approach and to share its secrets with us. For men, it allows them to regain a more athletic figure that evokes health and dynamism. For women, the procedure enables their bodies to be sculpted with great precision, restoring glamour and youthfulness.
The contours traced with high-definition liposuction will be refined and better defined.
How does high-definition liposuction work?
In most cases, high-definition liposuction requires a general anaesthetic, but can be carried out on an outpatient basis (discharge the same day). In some cases, however, a local anaesthetic enhanced by light or even epidural sedation may be used.
Dr Olivier Claude first performs a “classic” liposuction by inserting fine cannulas to treat predefined areas of fat storage.
He then performs high-definition liposuction using specific, even finer cannulas that act with great precision. In this way, Dr Olivier Claude reshapes the muscular contours previously chosen with the patient.
The incisions measure only a few millimetres and are located mainly in the natural folds of the muscles, to keep scarring to a minimum.
What happens after high-definition liposuction?
As with traditional liposuction, bruising may appear in the treated areas. These gradually disappear in about ten days.
The removal of localised fat cells will be definitive. Oedemas will be most noticeable in the first month and will disappear gradually, usually within 2 to 3 months. The skin will recover thanks to its elasticity and the retraction forces of tissue healing.
However, it is essential to maintain a healthy lifestyle after high-definition liposuction. The quality of the results will be optimised by:
- Regular exercise to encourage muscle development.
- A balanced diet to help stabilise your weight.
Today, high-definition liposuction is the procedure of choice for patients with a stable weight and elastic skin that does not sag. The aim is to design a well-defined silhouette in line with the patient’s morphology and wishes, by redefining the muscular relief.
