A young face can be oval, square, heart-shaped, rectangular, etc. And these contours are different for men and women. A woman’s face is more graceful if it is heart-shaped, and a man’s face is more graceful if it is rectangular.
Freshness
As we age, facial contours become blurred. Cheekbones gradually form, the chin contracts and flattens upwards, and bitterness lines run down from the corners of the mouth, giving a wooden “puppet” appearance.
Surveys carried out by the Allergan laboratory in the United States/Brazil/United Kingdom/France/Italy/Germany/South Korea and Australia have shown that almost half the people questioned (around 2,000 men and women aged between 18 and 69) would like to improve the shape of their chin and/or jaw. This data is important for the development of our treatment plan.
When these people were asked what would prevent them from doing so, their answers clustered around 3 barriers:
1. “I’m afraid that the results obtained won’t look natural”.
2. “I’m afraid I won’t be able to go back if I don’t like it”.
3. “I don’t want cosmetic surgery”. Aesthetic surgery has been on the decline for some time.
In response to this falling demand, the Allergan laboratory has created Volux®. This is a hyaluronic acid gel in the Juvéderm ® range which has projection and tension effects adapted to the modification of the contours of the chin and jawline.

Procedure
Juvéderm® VOLUX can be injected into the pogonion (tip of the chin), chin, bitterness lines, labiomental fold and the angle of the jaw. It offers a non-invasive alternative to surgical techniques ranging from implanting prostheses to lipofilling and cervico-facial lifting.
The advantage of hyaluronic acid injections is that the quantity injected is perfectly controlled to achieve a natural result.
Chin projection with Volux® lasts for more than 18 months.
The treatment takes place at Dr Olivier CLAUDE’s office and can last up to 45 minutes.
Sometimes a superficial anaesthetic is applied, in addition to the anaesthetic contained in Volux®, in order to provide greater comfort for patients.
The result is immediate and remains visible for 18 to 24 months. However, it may sometimes be advisable to repeat the injections once a year to preserve the benefits of the initial session.
In exceptional cases, small bruises may appear at the injection points, or there may be slight secondary swelling: these rare side-effects disappear within a few hours, or a few days at most. It may be advisable to massage the injected area, but the doctor will remind you so at the end of the session.
