Morpheus8 – Radiofrequency

Morpheus8, developed by the InMode laboratory, represents the latest generation of fractionated radiofrequency using microneedling. This treatment reshapes the face and body and provides in-depth rejuvenation of the skin.

Presentation

Morpheus8: the latest generation of fractionated radiofrequency.

The three main objectives of Morpheus8:

  1. Treat sagging skin with a “lifting” effect
  2. Correct skin imperfections (wrinkles, scars, stretch marks)
  3. Reduce small amounts of localised excess fat

Fractional radiofrequency has been used for over ten years to regenerate and rejuvenate the skin. Radiofrequency treatments stimulate fibroblasts and their production of collagen, elastin fibres and hyaluronic acid. The result is an improvement in skin elasticity. This stimulation is secondary to the emission of highly localised high-frequency electromagnetic waves that heat up the subcutaneous tissue. This ultra-targeted energy leads to deep regeneration of the skin and tissue renewal. The skin is rejuvenated, becoming more supple, toned and elastic.

Microneedling uses micro-perforations in the skin (micro-needles) to stimulate collagen production. Often carried out on its own in a beauty salon, this type of isolated treatment produces fairly poor results. It must be combined with mesotherapy serums and/or growth factors to obtain interesting results. Microneedling can also be combined with radiofrequency. Morpheus8 emits rapid heat energy through the dermis and hypodermis. The power of the radiofrequency and the depth of the treatment are personalised for each patient. Morpheus8 performs a three-dimensional contraction of the dermis and hypodermis containing subcutaneous fat.

By delivering the energy deep down using micro-needles, the treatment is more powerful and more effective than other radiofrequencies, while limiting side-effects (pain, redness and even burning). Comfort during treatment is therefore optimised, and social exclusion is reduced to 1 or even 2 days.

Morpheus8: the latest generation of radiofrequency with micro-needles.

The combination of radiofrequency and microneedling represents a genuine revolution in aesthetic medicine. These “machines” finally make it possible to treat sagging skin safely and precisely.

Unlike other fractionated radiofrequencies, Morpheus8 can penetrate subcutaneous adipose tissue to a depth of up to 8 mm.

Morpheus8 offers a triple action:

  1. Firms the skin by contracting the connective tissue, improving its suppleness and elasticity,
  2. Reduces subcutaneous fat,
  3. Improves the appearance of the skin (wrinkles, scars, stretch marks, etc.).

Morpheus8: a “medical facelift”?

The main objective of Morpheus8 treatment is to reduce skin laxity. The term “medical facelift” is often used, but it must be used with caution. This “lifting effect” can be obtained for most patients, but only thanks to treatment synergy. Usually, a combination of deep-supporting hyaluronic acid and Botox is needed to treat the various components of facial ageing. Dr Olivier CLAUDE will propose a personalised treatment plan to achieve a natural, harmonious result.

Morpheus8: for the face and body

Face and neckline: sagging and appearance of the skin

  •  Sagging face: oval of the face, naso-labial fold, bitterness fold, jowls
  •  Sagging neck: loss of neck-chin angle
  •  Fine lines: forehead, eye contour (crow’s feet), peribuccal area (“barcode”)
  •  Acne scars
  • Neckline

Body: sagging skin and small amounts of excess fat

  •  Arms (especially on the inside)
  •  Abdomen and waist (or hips)
  •  Thighs (especially inner thighs and stretch marks)
  •  Buttocks (sagging skin and stretch marks)
  •  Knees (at the back and above them)

Morpheus8 can be used on all skin types

Morpheus8 can treat all skin phototypes: from very fair skin to the darkest skin.

For thick, combination or oily skin, it is advisable to perform a Hydrafacial-type skin cleansing in the weeks preceding the treatment.

Procedure

Morpheus8: how does a session work?

The session will be personalised according to the needs and wishes of each patient.  It lasts approximately 20 to 30 minutes.

Sessions are carried out in our medical practice at 124 Rue de la Faisanderie 16eme Paris.

The intensity of the radiofrequency energy, the depth of the microneedling and the number of passes will be adapted to each session.

Contraindications are rare: herpes outbreak, recent skin tumours, etc.

The skin is thoroughly cleansed and disinfected before each Morpheus8 treatment.

For patient comfort, an anaesthetic cream is applied to the skin for 40 to 45 minutes.

The intensity and depth parameters (1 to 8 mm) are adapted for each patient. The treatment will therefore be personalised to optimise results.

The 24 needles are gold-plated to improve radiofrequency diffusion and control. They penetrate the subcutaneous space to deliver the radiofrequency energy. This causes fat cells to shrink and connective tissue to contract. The result is a reduction in excess adipose tissue and treatment of sagging skin. The energy also stimulates fibroblasts, which increase the synthesis of collagen and elastin fibres.

Combination treatments such as mesotherapy and/or growth factors can be used during the session to reinforce treatment synergy. Each patient will benefit from a personalised approach.

At the end of the session, an alcohol-free moisturising and regenerating cream (such as Cicalfate or Cicaplast) is applied. It is important to repeat the application of this cream 3 or 4 times a day for around 48 hours to reduce the slight redness and oedema secondary to the treatment.

Thanks to its technology, the after-effects of Morpheus8 are usually very light and there is no need for social or professional exclusion. However, the skin remains sensitive for around 15 days, although redness is usually limited to 1 or 2 days.

Any potentially irritating creams containing alcohol, glycolic acid (fruit acids), vitamin A (retinol), etc. should be avoided.

For 15 days, it is also important to avoid exposure to the sun and use factor 50+ sunscreen.

Results

Morpheus8: results appear gradually

The improvement will be visible in the 3 to 6 weeks following treatment thanks to cutaneous stimulation and tissue regeneration.

The increase in collagen and elastin synthesis will be coupled with the treatment of skin slackening. The skin will appear younger and more beautiful. We improve the skin’s deep structure (its tone) while improving its suppleness. Morpheus8 restores physiological tension through the deep regeneration mechanism.

Dr Olivier CLAUDE recommends 2 to 4 sessions spaced 3 to 5 weeks apart to optimise results.

The sessions take place in the medical practice of Dr Olivier CLAUDE, Plastic Surgeon, at 124 Rue de la Faisanderie – Paris 16th
