HALO – Fractional Laser
HALO (SCITON laboratory, USA) is the only hybrid fractional laser in the world which simultaneously delivers an ablative and non-ablative wavelength in the same treatment zone. The combination of these two wavelengths creates a powerful synergistic effect, resulting in unparalleled improvement in the visible signs of skin ageing, including fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation spots, the appearance of pores and acne scars.
How does HALO work?
HALO enables several skin problems to be treated in a single session:
- The 2940 nm ablative wavelength (Erbium) targets skin irregularities, texture problems and pore dilation. By creating small thermal lesions in the epidermis, it stimulates the production of new, healthy skin for visible results in a short time span.
- The non-ablative 1470 nm wavelength targets deeper sun damage and dermal hyperpigmentation. It also stimulates collagen production.
Together, these wavelengths offer short-term results and long-term benefits to a wide variety of patients. The after-effects are simpler and recovery faster thanks to the synergy of the 2 HALO lasers (2 in 1).
What effects does HALO have on the skin?
HALO corrects irregularities in skin texture and sun damage. It softens fine lines and wrinkles and improves the appearance of small scars, including acne scars. The treatment also targets vascular lesions, reduces hyperpigmentation and diminishes dilated pores. By stimulating fibroblasts, Halo increases collagen production and improves skin firmness, leaving it looking younger and more toned. HALO combines resurfacing and skin rejuvenation effects.
Who is HALO for?
The HALO laser treatment can be used to treat the face and body for all skin phototypes, from very fair to very dark. It can be used at any age.
How does a treatment session with the HALO laser work?
To achieve a natural, harmonious result, Doctor Olivier CLAUDE will suggest a personalised treatment plan, based on the needs and wishes of each patient. The face and neck are usually treated together. The parameters will be adapted for each patient. For patient comfort, an anaesthetic cream is applied to the skin for 30 to 45 minutes. With this specific anaesthetic cream and HALO’s integrated cooling technology, the treatment becomes more pleasant and most patients describe sensations of warmth and sometimes tingling. The face may be reddened immediately after the session. And most patients continue to feel a slight sensation of heat for 30 to 90 minutes, depending on the intensity of the treatment. From the second or third day onwards, you will notice that the redness diminishes. Slight desquamation of the skin may appear on the treated areas until it falls off naturally in the days following treatment.
Duration and expected results
The session lasts approximately 30 to 45 minutes. For optimum results, Doctor Olivier CLAUDE recommends combining the HALO laser and BBL HERO pulsed light in the same session.
Results start to appear 2 to 5 days after your Halo treatment, but your skin will continue to improve over time. The majority of patients notice the greatest improvement 3 to 6 weeks after the session. It is advisable to protect your skin from the sun for 4 weeks following your HALO treatment. Depending on your wishes and needs, one or two HALO sessions can be carried out each year.
